Compare with other budget elliptical, assembling this trainer is not very easy. Main problem for us was a squeaking sound from the flywheel. We have tried a lot of things, but could not stop that noise.
Build Quality
This machine looks premium, from the 1st glance there is no way any one can think it as a budget elliptical. Its 10 lbs heavier than BRM3671 (one of the best selling budget elliptical of 2013). But we can not hide the fact that it is made in china. And the annoying squeaking sound was making us mad while we tried to workout on different resistance and programs.
Heart Rate monitor
It comes with a pretty decent dual grip PowerPulse Heart rate monitor that is built in to the handlebars (see picture). We have tested this monitors accuracy with a wireless Garmin heart rate watch and found there is 4% – 5% discrepancy.
Resistance
Display:
We are quite happy with the display of the 310. Its large, easy to see and easy to operate. It’s a LCD Window with Priority Display,
Programs
There are six personal trainer pre-set workout with target pacer. These have a good amount of variety and helps a total body workout. The 310 has 10 level digital resistance that will increase or decrease the intensity of your workout so your workout becomes more interesting.
Warranty
As most of the budget elliptical, this trainer comes with a very poor warranty. It is only backed by 90-Day Parts & Labor Warranty. This is manly due to the fact that this machine is made in china. If you buy a better elliptical with slightly higher price (for example Schwinn A40), you will get a much higher warranty (for example Schwinn A40 has 2 years warranty on Frame and 6 month on mechanics and electronics. This is one of the main reason you should select a better elliptical like: Gold’s Gym 410 or XTERRA FS 3.0.
Our Opinion
We would say, go for the BRM 3681 or Schwinn A40. Your workout session will be noise free! If you know your way with the screw driver, and do not mind tighting a few screws every 2-3 months, you can buy this.
