Display of this trainer is easy and simple. It has a large gray LCD console. Unfortunately, they are not backlit; as a result working out in the dark is not good with this trainer. Display shows: time worked out, current speed, calories burned, heart rate, RPM/ Target. We must say, the quality of this display console is not good. It is even below average than other elliptical in this price range. If you ever break this console, it will cost you $120 to replace. For a $400 elliptical, this price is quite high.
Some users said, assembly is a workout itself for this trainer. It is heavy and big; and very difficult to assemble.
This trainer does not come with any wireless stripe for monitoring your heart rate. Pulse sensitive pad is situated in the stationary handle, beside the display. Pulse pads are easy to touch, but we found it’s not 100% accurate. Most of the time, it’s difficult to put your figure in the pulse pad while working on full intensity.
Build Quality of this trainer is very good. It is one of the best built budget trainer. Proform is well known for making high quality exercise machines. Some of the customers complain that their display brock after a few months. This trainer is quiet and sturdy; and almost 100% of the users will agree with that. (If your trainer wobbles or makes noise; please make sure you assembled it properly)
The program is a well reputed brand, but their customer support is questionable. Except the budget product line, they provide a lifetime warranty for all of their products. As, this Hybrid trainer is under $400, you will only get 5 years warranty for Frame and 90 days for parts and labor. The main reason is: Proform’s primary target while making this trainer was to push the price down. Providing lifetime warranty on a $400 unit will not be profitable in their end. If you compare this warranty period to their budget elliptical; you will see this 5 year warranty on frame is a market average. They should increase the warranty period for parts to at least 1 year.
Several customer reviews suggest that ProForm’s support for this model is poor. If you are lucky; you will never have to talk with any customer support staff.
This Hybrid trainer comes with 14 workout apps; 7 for recumbent exercise and 7 for Elliptical. Among the 7 preset workout program, 4 are for calorie burning (otherwise known as weight loss) and 3 are performance workout. All these workouts are challenging and engaging. These programs adjust the resistance to optimize your time for greater result.
