This machine combines technologies like QuadLink Drive and Body-Mapping Ergonomics which makes it more comfortable, liquid and also ensures natural motion while training. We think the manufacturers gave more focus on making it a very comfortable trainer and they have successfully managed to achieve that.
Easy to Use
The electronic devices are very easy to use and simply anyone can control it. The quick start and DedicatedLogic features make this trainer one of the easy-to-use machines of the market.
There is a reading rack installed in the system along with another accessory tray where you can keep water bottle, remote, phone or your walkman. These accessories are installed at convenient locations so that the user can easily reach out for them.
Safe and Quiet
Overall, the trainer makes very little noise and the “forward-thinking” structure keeps all the moving parts enclosed on front to make it safer.
GluteKicker, X-Mode and ArmBlaster workout boosters allows focusing of different muscle groups to ensure a complete tone-up of the entire body.
The frame is made of heavy gauge welded steel to make this machine as solid as possible. It weights 250 lbs and can accommodate up to 300 lbs. So it is altogether a well built trainer which is expected to last long. We found the oversized pedals (16.5” X 6.75”) to be quite comfortable for training and you can also bring variations in your foot position which is good for training. It includes the transport wheels. So we could easily move it from one place to another. One of the unique features of this machine is its smaller footprints (30” X 67”).
Two pairs of hands are always better than one when it comes to assembling an elliptical. Same thing goes for q35. We used a Phillips Screwdriver, 17 mm socket and racket, 17mm adjustable wrench and 6 mm hex key wrench for assembling the whole system. The user manual has dedicated a detailed, complete chapter that will show you how to assemble the trainer by using these tools. Overall, this is not all that complicated. You can download the assembly manual here: [wpdm_file id=28]
Heart Rate Monitor
This trainer only has contact heart rate sensors. Its really sad to see a trainer of such caliber do not come with a wireless heart rate monitor. We really do not like contact HRM, because even the most premium quality sensors never give 100% accurate results. Octane Q37ci and Q47ci comes with “HeartLogic Intelligence”, but this model do that have this feature.
The LCD readout display shows all sorts of information that a trainer needs to access while working out with this machine. We found the following information on the display while using this system- Time, Resistance Levels, Distance covered, Calories Burned, Speed, Amount of Calories expected to burin in an given hour for the current resistance level where the machine is set. Overall, we think you will get pretty much all sorts of information that you will need to have access to while working out.
This trainer has five preset workout programs including Random, Interval, Manual, Hill and 10K. Each of the programs come with certain features which brings more variation in the overall workout experience to provide better results for the users within a reasonable period of time. We found 20 different resistance levels. If someone wants to challenge his or her ability while training with this elliptical, the variations in the resistance levels will definitely make that happen.
The major downside of this elliptical is- it is overpriced. We don’t have any problem with the features that it offers but no way it can be a $2100+ machine.
Octane fitness q35 has a Lifetime Frame warranty, fiver-year parts warranty and one-year labor warranty.
Overall we don’t have any complains with the programs or the design of the trainer. It is easy to control, easy to access, focuses more on user’s safety and doesn’t take too much space. If you are not too sensitive about the price (which we believe to be a bit too high), you can go for this trainer.
