Compact design

This machine has one of the most compact designs in this type of fitness equipments. It is only 52 inches long, whereas the others are not less than 80 inches. If you have limited space, this is a perfect choice. Also it has large PVC wheels; this will help you in moving the machine from one room to another. Though, this being a very compact type of machine, it can only be recommended to people with a smaller structure. Any individual who does heavy workout will have discomfort in aspect of stability.

Build Quality

The built of the machine is very sturdy and strong.  Though this machine is only 125 pounds, it can accommodate 300 pounds comfortably. This elliptical has a Poly-V Flexonic drive belt that will never lose its elasticity. It has bearing on all the pivotal parts. This helps in smooth stride and less wear and tear. This machine comes with a flywheel of 25 pounds which again makes this a long-lasting machine.

Assembly

We did the entire assembly of this elliptical in two hours. This was an easy task as this machine had large wheels so the mobility was good. The product manual which came with the machine helped us in step by step assembling all the parts.

Heart Rate Monitor

This machine has dual contact heart rate sensors. The console checks heart rate at an interval of 30 seconds and regulates the resistance according to it. But we can not say that contact HRM is the best option, we always prefer wireless HRM (even the cheap ones). While doing your cardio, your thumb will move and your HR reading will be inaccurate. This is the biggest draw back of this trainer.

Display

The Lifecore LC-985VG has an easy to read, Large, LED with multicolour display which can track Time, speed, distance, calories burnt, pulse rate and watts. The coloured bars on the screen indicate the resistance level on this elliptical.

Programs

This trainer has a lot of programs to choose from according to your requirements. There are 12 manual programs, 4 heart rate control programs, the Watt program and User profile. The name of the program is seen on the message display window and the program profile is displayed on the matrix window.

There are 4 Heart Rate Control programs. They are: 55%, 75%, 90% and Target Heart Rate. You can select the program that best suits you. You can even mix match the programs to get better results

Warranty

This trainer comes with a 5 year warranty for the parts and 1 year warranty on labour. Which is quite generous and this also assures us of the better quality of the parts.

The Lifecore LC-985VG is an overall good elliptical trainer. The machine is sturdy enough. Though there are many other options available in the market at same price, this machine is always a better choice. Although it is a very compact model, it has many good features.
